I have a mastercraft 94. I have a stereo, amp, new battery, left everything hooked up it was dead on the 3rd day. Charged it back up, disconnected the stereo and amp and it did the same thing. So something is running them down, the key is not on either.

Does anyone know how to wire the alternator. I had the boat worked on and he was not sure how to hook up.

When we are out on the lake it will start 5-7 times then it is dead. So battery is not charging. So I hook up another battery and it started 3-4 times then it was dead. Then hooked up the 3rd battery and went in and loaded it! And this has been happening alot and I can not figure out what is running the batteries down.

DOES ANY HAVE ANY IDEAS! ALL HELP APPRECIATED!!

"You had the boat worked on" is the operative phrase. So what was done and what was the technician (use the term loosely apparently) unsure of how to hook up. Details - details - details!

Did this dude by any chance sell you a "good" alternator? If that's the case, the "good" alternator may have some bad diodes in it which will suck a battery dry in short order.

I had the motor worked on and he did not pay attention to the alternator when he unhooked it. So he wasn't sure which wire went where. I had a new alternator put on last year.

I really have to bite my tongue here but why not go back to the "engine guy" and have him fix the problem he apparently created. You paid him, why should you have to fix the problem. That's his job. I can only guess but my thoughts are he turned your good alternator into a bad one, especially since you didn't have the issue before he got involved.

For the lack of anything better to do, why not have the battery load tested to make sure have a good battery, then look for good/bad connection, rubbed/bare wire grounding. My grandson just went through this kind of thing with his car and turned out to be a bad battery but it took 2 mechanics to figure it out.

We have always had an electrical problem with this boat. the boat guy just was not sure on how to hook the alternator back up, so i guess one of my questions is does anyone know how to correctly wire one of these back up.
