Speed Channel is gone

I was about to complain to my cable provider, until I googled it. The channel is gone, a victim of corporate takeover and bean counting. Gone is most of NASCAR, Pinks All Out, Car Warriors and anything that has to do with a combustion engine. Down the road some of the programs will be moved to FS1 and Fox Sport 2, stations we don't get. Thanks a lot Rupert Murdoch and Fox TV. You are geniuses at fixing things that aren't broken.

It's been gone for months now. Fox Sports 1 and 2 killed it when they went live on August 17, 2013. Guess you didn't watch enough. :laugh:

Whether it was a contractual agreement or what, we had it here until the end of February. As of midnight Mar.1 it went off the air.

Boy oh Boy, talk about a blast from the past, Speed has been gone for a long time now.

We get the pre-race on Fox 1 Sports, then watch the race on Fox for the time being.

We can't get Fox Sports in Canada. So the loss of Speed means the loss of truck racing and Nascar qualifying and practice among others.

It was contractual. What you were watching on Speed was either reruns from the old Speed days or simulcasts of Fox Sports 1 motorsports programming. FS1 replaced Speed in the US in August, 2013 - same channel, different name. I basically quit watching at the end of 2012 when they dropped Formula 1.

BTW, NASCAR America is a new NBC Sports Network daily that I am watching these days. My driver went over there (Jeff Burton) as an analyst, so I started checking in. Pretty good alternative to the Fox Sports 1 stuff if you are looking. NBC launching daily NASCAR show - NASCAR - Sporting News

We have Comcast. FS1 replaced Speed a while ago. It is even the same channel. Fox always owned it so it is a programming and name change.
