Hi All:
I have an OMC Cobra 3.0L with an aluminum propeller. I purchased a never used pre-owned Stainless Steel propeller. According to the manual this propeller should fit my boat. When I place it on the shaft with the Thrust Washer/Bushing it fits too close to the drive unit and I can feel friction when it is turned. If I turn the thrust bushing around it spins without the rubbing but I know this is not the way the thrust bushing is supposed to be placed due to the bevel fitting over the shaft bevel. Would it be OK to place a washer over the existing thrust bushing to give the prop a little more clearance from the drive unit? Or do I need to get another thrust bushing that is thicker? If it makes any difference the new prop is SS #389924
14 1/2X19.
Thanks for any help.
