Is the vinyl extrusion designed to accept the SS insert? If so, yeah, I've probably done it, oh, say a few thousand times...

Well what i wnt to do is install 1/2" hollowback stainless on top of original rigid vinyl rubrail but i think the original rail curves downward slightly toward transom using 3m 5200 and offsetting screws from original The issue i worry about is the curvature of original. Can you bend stainless hollowback? So no its not designed to accept it,is what i'm suggesting possible?

Yes, SS insert is "bendable". As the shear starts to slope downward towards the transom, simply pull it down to meet the curvature, drill your hole, shoot your 5200 in, pull it back down run your screw, then continue on. When the curvature straightens out, pull it up and do the same thing.

It will go around corners too, as long as the radius isn't too tight. A heavy rubber mallet words good to "pound it a round". Just screw it in close to the corner so it doesn't "spring" on you. Piece of cake...:D
