The 'Jetson' stern light:

The splashwell, does this look correct? Seems low on the gunwale & fairly short (width from transom forward) by SC splashwell standards:

Maryland Reg# & my WV plate:D, don't hate:
DSCN1885.jpg

The crappy wheel (touches dash tray:confused:), keyed ignition, a helm, but it is definitely in need of some attention:
DSCN1888.jpg

Usual after dark pickup, a few things that don't necessarily fit w/ sellers description, but I'm not unhappy, except to need to remove some spray in bed liner fore & aft of the 4 fold down seats. Which aren't great, but will clean-up & probably have good hardware to put on new ply, foam & vinyl when I get to that point.

Maybe some of the leaves will blow out later when I head back. Came w/ a free crab pot (mostly trashed), a couple life jackets (definitely trash), a wheel chock (good) a few empty cans (it better behave, or else....) of various beverages.

Need to pull the lower & give motor a service. Lower has been replaced, as evident in pix I think. I am pleased over all. It doesn't look like the bow & stern lights or the windshield have ever been changed. I am fairly sure it's not a 1974, so we'll see as I get into it. I for sure wish I wasn't here.

The crappy wheel (touches dash tray:confused:)

The splashwell looks like mine, which is narrower front-to-back than I'm used to seeing on most of the SC's on here. It measures maybe a foot or so. As far as the wheel, if you replace it, you can get a wedge kit to angle the new one up 10, 20 or 30? & get it up off the dash tray.

Looks like somebody went crazy with the red paint! Also looks like a PT transom board, curious how the metal looks underneath it. Mine was very pitted.

Very nice find, looks like a fun boat and a good project, good luck!

(Got mice under that front deck?)

Looks pretty good. Yeah definitely not a '74. It's actually probably EARLY 60's as my Jupiter was a '66 and did not have lapstrake below the chines.

Mine looked like this when I got it:

nice boat! i knew you'd finally get it. congrats on keepin on keepin on til you got er home. and dodging the jeers and handful of thrown shells from the peanut gallery here.......

and ER, that's the nice thing about a boat light enough to carry on a popsicle stick trailer. bet it only costs him <2-3mpg compared to his usual mileage to tow. unlike mine, where i get all of 15mpg with the boat in tow....

I know right, the 're-wired trailer' is more then a little suspect. Looks like there's 2 whole rolls of electrical tape in various places on both the boat & the trailer. The coupler & jack are new, but man is the main spar for the trailer worked.

I hope the killer aircraft stripper will work on the 'DIY' bedliner at the bilge & under the helm seats. Else it may be a journey like seperating the cap from the hull @ the FireFlite.

Transom has zero deflection when lifting the motor, so there is that. It doesn't have beach or trailer rash along the keel. But there are a couple 'small' deep gouges, a couple of dents along both sides below the water line, so those may or may not get fixed, I'll shoot some pix Fri/over the weekend.

There are enough acorns inside the boat to feed a hungry raccoon gaze of 50+ thru more then 1 winter. Anybody that want's good quality KY, WV, VA, or MD oak tree starter kits, just let me know, I have a few to spare...............

I am leaning towards a mid-60's, 15' Jet, the windshield is original, as are the bow & stern lights. And in good more then usable shape. The glass purple globe on the Jetson stern light is in great shape & will stay.

Gotta run, else another night on the road w/ the SC.

I didn't even ask about the lights when I drug my Chieftain home, just brought a new $30 set. Luckily for me, the rest of the trailer is a bit more substantial!
Good luck on the remainer of the journey home. Hope your bearings stay cool and lubed.

Huh, you spose there is anything usable on that or should we just toss it out all together now we have a real boat?

Well done JB:)

:)

Thanks! Pretty stoked!

I hate to break it to you's in the SC mob, but the red FireFlite isn't a donor boat.... And will look damn perfect w/ the 'new' Rude 75!

But the BLUE FireFlite might be:eek:

Trailer for sure, the rest, hhhmmmmmmm

His & Her's FireFlites???
