Re: Starcraft I own, but haven't picked up.........

The bow & the front 1/2 of the hull have been blasted, w/ better then expected results. I left the boat at the shop & was soaked head to toe from using the pressure washer for so long, so no pix. Cell pix in the am... Ok... The mob may collect their implements & torches, but no need to assemble or light them fires, just yet. But let me assure you, all that "almost completely void of bedliner " hull is great!!

Have a great evening & Tues!

In the bow it looks like there is still quite a bit in the bow seam, but it's bad lighting. It's about the same as everywhere else. Back half tonight....

I guess bedliner isn't on your list of stuff to finish the resto. You've been working on that junk for, seems like months now. Hope the end is near, JB.

Yeah, it's been a drag.

But good news:

The bright light in front of me IS NOT a train, it's bright blue, cloud-free, 85degree, sun filled sky at the end of the tunnel:D

I second that, you've been very patient & persistent! Dreadful stuff.

Re: Starcraft I own, but haven't picked up.........

Had a few minutes after work, got the Blue extra FireFlite out of storage & setup for a little trailer switch out Fri late or over the weekend. The Jet goes to the Blue FireFlite trailer temporarily. It's actually going on the galv trailer I picked up a few weeks ago & have been using for the glass boat we're working on at the office. The Blue FireFlite will go to the carp trailer under the Jet. The carp trailer is actually going to a new home soon. Borrowing a vacant lot for the switch, so no pix.

I also owe the mob pix of the back half 98% clean of the bedliner. Got a few clingers in the ends of a couple ribs, and 2 thinnish spots about the size of a softball still spotty black. Either just a final pass w/ the stripper, &/or a scouring pad and it'll be gone! Where there was better access to the opening in the end of a rib, the PO was kind enough to shoot the spray foam into the rib & back fill the opening w/ liner. Based on the amount of water coming out w/ the pressure washer nozzle stuck in the other end, all but 2 have most of the foam & liner out. 2 are still only letting about 1/2 as much water through. I see a long afternoon/evening in my future w/ an o-ring hook type tool or a bent coat hanger:facepalm:

So the light might have still been a train, but it was on the other track, whew, that was close...............

After the trailer switcheroo motor work is set to commence.:)

JB - Man! What a job! There should be a Starmada warning to all --- Beware of the Bedliner!

Good job man... I bet you are looking forward to moving beyond the bedliner!!!! :D

Re: Finally, progress....

i get annoyed at the overuse of the term "survivor".....expecting to hear someone describe themselves as a "measles survivor" any day....but "bedliner survivor" doesn't have that same tinny ring to it. good work!

Re: Finally, progress....

I actually am tempted to send the info to Andgott, he has mentioned wanting 1, and would certainly do it right. But I think he's sending a few excess project boats off to homes. At least 1 for sure. This would not help that situation @ his place, whatever the reasons.

I did look through some of the iboats feathercrafts threads. And did see that tinny link thread you posted. Fiberglassics, tin feathercraft library too. The feathercraft.net (may not be the right title) site didn't even have 1 that looked anything like this 1. Esp not from the stern.

Still no room @ my joint for it though. Wish there was.

Re: Finally, progress....

Got started cleaning up a Gator tilt trailer for the Jet:
GEDC0398-1.jpg

Hitch, winch, & post removed, tongue ground smooth & rust reformed:
GEDC0408.jpg

Tomorrow I'll steal the trailer jack, hitch, winch & post off the current Jet trailer and get them fitted onto the Gator. But I'm not sure how to best setup the rear lifting bunks. The front bunks were turned 90deg from the suggested installation perpendicular to the center line of the trailer, based on this original Gator ad from 1960:
1960GatorTrailerad.jpg

I was out by my truck this evening snapping the required pix proof of trailer work & heard some strange noises under the tonneu cover. Dropped the tailgate & discovered I have an infestation.

What's the SC mob suggested remediation of this problem:

Re: Top secret metal boat files are all hidden!

Re: Top secret metal boat files are all hidden!

So, I have been thinking a lot lately about all this back & forth discussion of open bow vs. closed bow and how much the Admiral & I have been enjoying fishing lately. After some careful consideration, and with some fear & loathing I decided to take the plunge & try my hand at a bow-ectomy. It didn't go as well as I hoped. And was much less satisfying then you all lead me to believe. At this point, I need some help regrouping & possibly trying to go in another direction entirely.

Since we're all so hung up on pix & proof, I submit these 2 pix.

Have I acted in haste?

What are the possibilities that this can still be salvaged:

Stupid 'puter won't load photobucket........ Let me reset the wireless modem....

Sorry, the modem & I are disagreeing about what acceptable routing means

And now the pix I couldn't post:

Be honest fellas, can this be resolved:

Yeah, I know, not what you were expecting;) Deal w/ it

This was not as satisfying as advertised in the Starmada promotional literature

In fact, I probably would have paid extra to not have to hassle w/ it:(
