Alright boys well since I don't have 4K and I don't want to scrap the boat because I just paid 3200 bucks for it it looks like I'm doing this my self

Does anyone have any instructions for removing the transom ?? Jasoutside has a novel written on a islander rebuild but all his pics are not available because of photobucket... I did a search and didn't come up for what I'm looking for...

got some more flooring removed and pressure washed the hull.. i found one leaking riviet when i had the hull filled with water not too bad

I was thinking about the flooring ... since we can't use treated plywood on our alum boats can you use treated ply with deck over to create a barrier ? They make a super textured deck over that's really cool looking I think it would be cool to have that instead of vinyl or carpet .. thoughts ?

Forget the deck stuff. Does not stick on and does not last. Adhesion and UV issues. I talked directly to mfg and that was their answer. Just go with acx, bcx ply. On another note waterman will definitely steer you in the right direction when it come to tin.

You can, I had good luck with the Sharx marine screws not coming loose but just think about what material the screws have to hold onto and all the vibration in a boat.If you're lucky 2 teeth on the screw are hanging onto aluminum.

The Sharx got some bite and don't shake loose. I still prefer rivets tho....

Very good point I didn't think about the thickness of the alum... I was just thinking ahead if for water ever reason I needed to to remove the deck it would be much faster if it was screwed in

Sorry fella’s I’m not done or checked out I just haven’t worked on the boat this winter it’s in my buddies barn with no electric running to it and this crazy Lake Erie snow has held me up! So I just ordered epoxy for my deck I’m going to make I went with us composites 625 epoxy

So Iv been thinking all winter I have two fairly large gas tanks that sit on top of the deck under the captain seats... I really only need one fuel tank anyone ever put a gas tank under the deck ? It would be two less boxes It would have to make a epoxy and paint exc... and I could always be running fresh fuel in the tank
