You still made out on that deal. I think it's great for everyone that the old motor runs for the guy. You'll be holding out for a 70-75.

Ideally i'd like to find a late 80's early 90's 85hp with power tilt. ideally.

I disagree. IDEALLY I think a late 80's early 90's 3 cylinder 70-75 would be the optimum motor power/weight/fuel economy-wise for a Jupiter. And as you mentioned power T&T is a must. If my 85 died I don't think I'd replace it with another V4 on THIS boat. Also, keep in mind that somewhere in the early 80's the JohnnyRude 85 became a 90. That being said, I think Yamaha made an 85 or 90 HP 3 cylinder in the 80's-90's that I'm sure rocks socks.

Oh I was just posting it to reference the model not necessarily that specific motor.

that would be sweet! so what do you do in a situation like that where it doesnt come with controls?

Well Andy I would guess if your controls wouldnt work with it you would just buy new controls that would :D.

Andy, I just got back from vacation and am slowly catching up with everyone on the forum. All I can say is SWEEEEEEEET! You have done a great job in such a little time. I am envious. Of course everytime I see progress like this it only makes me more depressed that I am so far off from the splash, but that day will come.

I was actually considering all white (easiest) or metallic silver (a bit harder but i think the silver would be sharp looking)

well, i just exchanged a few emails with the guy i traded motors with... he said the only problem with it not shifting was the switch in the controls. he said it goes pretty good on his boat. i guess it was win win for everyone... i got rid of that crappy hydro electric shift, he got a motor with power tilt!oh and he says that its actually a 60hp, and that the motor mount bracket had been changed thats why it came back as a 69 55hp.

Andy, I just sent you a PM.

well, im back from vacation and itching to get on the water! im thinking about going for a spin in a little bit when my wife gets home from her sisters... and sunday we are all going out for a nice day oin the beach. the weather is supposed to be great this weekend...

but the bad news is swmbo said not another dime on it for the rest of the year (YEAR, not season) except for gas and oil... so im going to have to sideline everything till the spring. hopefully she will be 100% by the get togehter next year

Hey the god news is the boat is water ready and you did such a quick project that you do have the rest of the season to enjoy her.:)

Did she say anything about spending nickels on the rig?:p
