Hey the god news is the boat is water ready and you did such a quick project that you do have the rest of the season to enjoy her.:)

Did she say anything about spending nickels on the rig?:p

spoke too soon...

Wow she's definitely not 100% more like 20% hopefully it's a simple sea foam job or carb issue to get some more fuel burning:confused:

Andy that is not good. My guess would be it's not electrical, probably a cable or a carb issue. I'm out the door in a few minutes for Ocean City. Hopefully the next post you see from me will be a picture of my boat in the slip!!!

Have you checked to be sure that the throttle is opening up all the way?Check the carb not just the cable or leaver on the carb.I am not sure if that is a two or three circuit carb.It may have a partially blocked main jet or a sticky needle and seat.It could have the float height set low not allowing enough fuel into the carb bowl.Does your ignition advance as the throttle advances? If it does, that can cause all kids of crazy running. That's about all I can come up with unless I had my hands on it.

Re: Starcraft project: "STOLEN" PIC UPDATE 7-31-09 COMPLETED!!

well, back in business. the high speed jet was totally clogged.

just got back from the lake and shes purring like a kitten. had a good evening at the launch...

i went solo, and friday when i tried to launch solo it was horrible. so i went planning on asking someone to help me. when i got there i saw a boat tied up just cranking away, and the cranking slowly got slower. i walked over and offered cables if they would help me get my boat in the water. the guy actually pulled his truck up to the water and spun the boat backwards... something i wouldnt have done only because the prop was only inches from the concrete. but he insisted, and we hooked up the cables and she fired up.

got mine in the water, started it and prayed for a good showing. pulled away from the dock, hit the throttle and i was off! \

when i came in i loaded up and parked, and sat and watched all the boats come in. i could tell stories all day. mt favorite was the rednecks pulling out an 18 or 19' fourwinns with a 2wd s-10... spun the rear tire all the way up the ramp

well let me tell you what happened. i had a very stern talking to with them. i told them that if they didnt change their attitude, i was going to send them to be put on a rednecks boat with a bunch of fat people on a 20' boat.

they changed their attitude really fast!

Glad to hear your out there getting the bugs outta the motor and into your teeth! :D
there were alot of bugs out last night too... :D

Cool man. I'm jealous.

thanks man... as a first timer it was rough going at times, and me not being mechaniclly inclined, any motor problems are tough. thats what i love about iboats, theres always someone to help.

Re: Starcraft project: "STOLEN" PIC UPDATE 7-31-09 COMPLETED!!

reason 529 to have a safety chain
reason 851 to not buy cheap stuff

went out to the lake with the family and the kids brought some friends... had a great time at the sand bar and cruising around. then on the road home i noticed the bow bouncing alot. stopped and checked... damn winch is busted. the piece that locks it broke. i tighened up the safety chain so there was no slack and carefully limped home.

its a $14.99 winch from one of those traveling tool sale things.

cheap chinese tools come from Harbor Fleight or the traveling tool gypsies :D. Boat stuff comes from a dealer :D. Good to hear no boat was harmed today Andy and that you had another great day with her now that the carbs are sorted out :D.

ya, lapse in judgement buying that to save $20...

she is running great, still need to adjust the low speed on it... waiting till i can get out there minus the family. but its not like its unusable.

For sale is a 1974 Starcraft boat with a 1985 mercury outboard motor also includes bimie sun rider top. This sale also includes a matching trailer in good shape. This boat has been garage kept since I have owned it and has only been used for a few weeks. Please call John W at 570-419-6303.

Location: W. Rutland, VA

has a working 85 hp merc that i want, and a nice trailer! i could throw my trailer under the hull and turn it around for $500, and he would probably take $1000 for it... thus giving me a bigger motor and better trailer for only $500!

damn i wish i had some extra cash.

I feel ya bud..
About how I felt when that 18 ft SS was out here for 300 bux and I was on the road..

I think it hurts MORE when it's a "small" amount but ya cant spare it right then!

yup. that does make it worse. honestly, if i came across a deal like that right now i would jump on it and deal with SWMBO's wrath... but i think if i came across a SS right now she would be okay with it... she doesnt like the closed bow,.
