Re: Starcraft search is done!!!!
good looking boat. I have a 1986 Cheiftain, title says 21 foot, looks just like yours as far as the hull goes. I have a canvas top and have remodeled the inside to fit my needs. I have the 140hp I/O, actually the crate engine stated 135hp.
Something I wish I had done was put a belly tank in it. I have two tanks under each seat (driver/passenger) I think they are about 16 gallons each (alum tanks). When I got the boat I replaced all fuel lines and tanks where in good shape so I kept them. I wish I had a 45 gallon belly tank shifted as far forward as I could place it. But I replaced the floor and have plans to take the floor back up.
I also wish I would have gluv it the inside seams, but I found Iboats after putting the new floor in.
I am glad I used marine plywood.
I like the cabin door so it swings in, up against the shelf I built on one side. The other side where the sink was has a removable shelf where the fish box sits with a drain out the old sink hole. I installed a pump to pump fresh water into the fish box.
Wife and I sleep in ours numerous times each year, I love the set up for a 21 footer, wish I had a 24 or 25 footer, those rare Islander or Cheiftains.
