This followed me home today. It is a stripped 16' Super Sport hull with trailer ($200) that is in need of quite a few things. The guy I got it from told me he had rebuilt the deck and installed the carpet but then just neglected the boat.
Upon arrival at the new home my Son decided to peek under the carpet (he just ripped it up).... what a pleasant surprise.... good solid plywood but it is 15/32". I am considering various options at this point. Since the wood is in good shape there is no evidence of it being sealed up. I may drill out the rivets and remove it just to seal it and gain access to the inside of the hull.
This will allow me to properly seal the wood and use gulvit as needed on the hull. It will also afford me the chance to check the flotation
I have to install everything.....lights, windshield, steering, mount my motor, but this will all follow the paint and sealing.
Let the fun begin!
