Photo update ;)

This is to show the front casting deck that extends between the consoles where it is actually rod storage.

There is a photo to show the bow and my aluminum work....... I wanted to make sure Kevin saw the arrow formed by the bow piece and the step piece I added. :D

FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! Great idea Bob!

Looks great. Got a pic of how you get into that rod storage area? Can't quite see it from the pics.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Okay I designed it so the hatch comes up and the door is also hinged. I can get 6' rods in there with no problem (remember I fish fresh water.... for the salty people ;)) and if a rod is longer than 6' the lower portion of the hatch is also hinged to allow longer rods to stick out.

The aluminum bracing is 1 1/2" x 1" x 1/8" thick and it will hold allot of weight.

The rod storage goes all the way to the nose of the bow.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Wow, It's done! (except a windshield )

I built the bunks today, replaced the broken water hose, resurrected an old boat ladder I had, checked all my bolts and lights, stored all my "required boating safety items" tilted the motor up on the transom saver........ filled the fuel tank.

Tomorrow afternoon is the SPLASH! My Son will come with me when he gets off work.

It's been a whole year and almost a week to the day that I first picked up the stripped hull and trailer.

Holy crap it has been allot of work!

Pictures of my bunks. Remember I modified the Hosclaw trailer to accommodate bunks and change the location of the lights. I tapered the steel supports for the bunks so they would not "assault" people when they walked by (mainly me and the wife).

Right now I am absolutely exhausted and since I worked in the sun all day my eyes are completely bloodshot and darn near non-functional!

Well, my eyes are a little better. I guess the sun beat them up bad yesterday....... and I was not even welding! Feels like a flash burn :(

The yellow really pops. Those side bunks are great. I have them also and I swear I could load it in my sleep.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

Nope today was a failure :(

The starter went on me and I was unable to start so it never got launched.

Murphy is haunting me! I will bring the starter in on Monday to have it rebuilt which with my luck will be a long time.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

In a report by Alfred Holt at an 1877 meeting of an engineering society: (Before it was called "Murphy's Law", even):

"It is found that anything that can go wrong at sea generally does go wrong sooner or later."

If it weren't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any luck at all.

Re: Starcraft Supersport The Project Begins

first let me say what a neat boat! Looking at these threads has got me itching to try restoring a starcraft tin! My question is what is the tow weight of a boat similar to yours? leary about towing to much weight with a vehical that has a 3500 max tow
