Bob - thanks for the great post. Never have enough information!! When I get the motor I will change to a 16:1 ratio. Do you have pics of your collection? I'm thinking I will start to look for some old small outboards.
Do you fire them up from time to time?
Skippy - Now that's a lot of info. Thank you. However, my Scottie is a 481, 3.6 hp.
I also need the black center "decals" for the gas on/off knob and the choke knob. Ya have to wonder where all those parts went to..... I will spend some time looking at the links you provided. I will update on my progress. It's awesome getting this motor and resurrecting it. 62 years old and still running with very little, if any, maintenance over the last 25 years. I believe it helps that it was stored inside.
