SIMPLY PUT...
The MARINE starter has INTERNAL spark prevention features...The starter is laying in a low (gas vapors are heavy, lay in the bottom of the engine comp) enclosed area...Can you imagine lighting a match around that area? That is also why you have a bilge blower
An auto starter does NOT have this feature.....not needed on a car
The 2 most important explosion features are the right starter AND the bilge blower..Both mandatory..
Please, please get the freeeking auto starter crap out of your head..Save your life, not a couple bucks
