I just saw your comment about choke setting. Is this motor slow starting ? It sounds like it as you comment that a manual choke setting makes it start and run right away. If you have dirt in carb jets, it maybe has to cranck for a longer period, trying to start, which will make the bendix jump out as it is designed to.<br /><br />Your problem is another then:<br /><br />Either you do not hold the key in choke position, counting to eight, before crancking,<br /><br />Or you will need a total dissasembly, blow out with compressed air in all passages, and install rebuild kit operation of carb, as your motor is running lean due to carbureator being dirty or obstructed by old leftover gas.<br /><br />Remember running a 2 stroke lean means higher combustion temperature and less oil, which will harm your motor fast or during time.
