Well my starter went out today on a holiday weekend! The only place I was able to get one for my 87 454 magnum was the auto parts store. They match perfectly, now what are the drawbacks at less than half the price?

Family go boom, crispy critters, fire hazard. Please use a marine starter.

Re: Starter????

As stated above the down side is the BOOM. I just got a starter for my 5.7 from dbelectical.com comes with everything you need as far as shimnes and new bolts fast CHEAP shiping and i got mine for $67 including shiping. they are also very friendly and knowledgeable. I think the marina wanted $180 for one.

Re: Starter????

dosent matter where it comes from as long as it`s "MARINE RATED",If the boom happens and the adjuster finds auto parts ,your insurance coverage is "0"
