I want to start the motor out of the boat, to confirm I don't have any issues or leaks.

I read Don's Sticky on how to troubleshoot a starting system, and looking at the wiring diagram, I think the actions I have to do to start the engine, out of the motor (Thus without any of the controls - using the end of the connector only):

1. Emulate the ignition ON, by shorting Red/Purple(6) to purple (5)
2. moment switch the starter on, by shorting Red/Purple (6) to Yellow/Red(7)

with the colors and numbers from the diagram below:

Is there anything else I should need to do? any other info/diagrams already available?

Just use a jumper wire from the + on the coil to power on the battery then jump the starter or a starter button.

Water supply?

You don't want to burn up the raw water pump running even a few seconds dry.

EDITED: So your skipping the wiring harness all together... good idea, beats the tracking down the circuit :) Thanks!

Water... You bet that one. Plan on running a hose into a temp line to the 'in' on the water pump.

Fuel will be similar, temp fuel line to the in on the filter (pre pump)

Thanks
