Outboards with Gearshifts, rarely steer in excess of 45 degrees to Port or Starboard

Maybe this will help visualize what I'm trying to say. Steering full lock in one pic, then steering detached and engine turned in next. As you can see, there is more movement available on the outboard end of things, and I sure would like to have that much more maneuverability.
So, I'm having limitations of the steering whether that be in brackets or system itself.

I suppose you could compare the throw of your steering system with others, but yours looks to be adequate. It is certainly fine for high speed. You look to lose some real slow maneuvering ability.

If you find that other steering systems give more throw and you want so replace it...but I think you will find your steering system is just fine.

Maybe turn that adapter bracket on the motor around.----Shorter radius.-------Might make it turn more better to your liking.

I would try Racerone's suggestion before throwing $$ at a hydraulic system only to find out it has the same limitations.

Outboard wasn't centered on the transom. i now have equal steering to port and starboard. Looks like the amount you f available steering is insufficient, but I guess all that's left is to take it out & find out before you start looking into a different setup
