Hi guys - and thank you in advance for your input on this - I have a 1965 boston whaler - 16.5 feet - with a johnson 50 (1982) on it. I just completely re did boat - and I am trying to do a nice job tying in the steering cable. The tilt tube on the engine is not an option because the hull gets in the way of the cable sliding through the engine supplied sleeve. So I fabricated a nice offset bracket for the cable fixed mount that i purchased from tele flex. What is annoying is that the U flex supplied nut threads down the sleeve only about half way - and there are two seperated sets of threads on this nut - seperated by a groove - what the hell purpose does that serve? Now if I leave this that way - it will half at least a half inch of play in the steering wheel - My aim is no play at all!! _ any suggestions - Thank you again - Paul
and also - how can i post some pics of the boat - I am thrilled with how its turning out!!!
