steering

I have gotten a new boat (new to me) and before I had cable steering. This new boat is set up with hydrolic steering, I am wondering how to connect this to my motor a 1987 85 horse Force. Can I just take the ram (the moving part) and use hose clamps and clamp it to the motor? This would obviously be a temp fix until I can figure out how to do it correctly. I just want to give the boat a trial run!

Using hose clamps would be TOOPID!

Get the right stuff. Anything else will get you hurt or worse.

I am not thinking this for a permanent solution just a trial run, just want to see how boat floats, reacts to the motor and such. I will then pull it back home and do all repairs needed before going out for a real day on the boat.

Here is a pic of the ram and my motor have no idea what to buy. Is it a kit, or must I start from scratch and buy the whole set up?

i don't see anything there that is hydrolic. looks like a standard teleflex single cable steering. it goes thru the tilt tube, then a link arm to the motor,
