Don't forget, you will have to set the idle for int the water. It will idle great on land but when it is in the water completely you will have to set the idle for that. Good luck!

YIPPEEEEE! :) :) :) :D

I've been watching too. I stayed out, you were getting advice from the "best of the best".

Once she's broken in, you may want to consider re-propping her to run 5500+.

Re: Sticky rings??

Thanks for the info, I have been reading the manual and this winter I might give it a try. Just needed a local machine shop. Hightstown is not that far away from me. I have a 92 225 with one scored wall and 85 psi on the rest of the cylinders. It goes through gas like it was free and the boat is running 10+ mph less than it should @ 5500 (only about 34 mph according to GPS)
Just want to make it through the season as it does start right up and run very well despite the issues.

Nice... looks just like mine.. I didn't set my timing. If you didn't move any linkage adjustments everything should be just as it was. if you need to time it read your link and synch in the manual 20 times..lol....to post a pic right here..you goto the pic hit properties, copy the URL then past it in the box here where it sez..image..

Re: Sticky rings??

i got a used good starter for 70 dollars and it starts a lot better.
before i puttet the powerhead on i did the tstats of course.
but i am a stupid a.. because i was to cheap to buy new ones and i thougt with a good cleaning and checking them in hot water if they would open i would be fine.
Bad bad bad mistake. the tstats do not open at all and the motor was running hot.i shut it down immidialtly and let it cool hoping the tstats would pop open.
nothing happend so after a second attempt and running hot i took the tstat out and replaced the housing and the motor run cool.
defenetly runs like crab if you dont have tstats in them.
so i trew the old stats out and tomorow i wil; install new ones.
i'm now a firm believer in trowing things out and put new stuff in while you can.
i had the ph off , replacing tstats was a joke but now....rrrrrr
how cheap can i be well real Dutch

reeldutch
