Re: Stole my trailer ! ! !

Someone stole the V roller of our trailer once. We had to pad it with towels as to not destroy the fiberglass on the 2 harpons that it left sticking toward the boat.

Re: Stole my trailer ! ! !

The other day I was headed to the boat ramp and there were some kids playing basketball in the street. They moved out of the way for us to pass and I waved to say "thanks". My friend's daughter was with us and she was holding her dog. One of the kids (probably 12-14 yr old) shouts out "I'm gonna steal your boat AND your dog". That remark in my day would have landed me an @$$ whipping like you wouldn't believe; whether the kid was saying it to be obnoxious or not to me is beside the point, that is what was in his head.

Maybe I'm a redneck, but that comment would have caused an immediate activation of the brakes and a discussion that, though maybe not leading to immediate butt whuppings, would have convinced the young little stains on society to be convinced that I was capable of hunting every one of them down with disasterous results to their future manhood if they even looked at that dog or boat.

I was riding down the street in my town one day and happened upon three little wastes of sexual pleasure who apparently thought it was big fun to throw pebbles at passing vehicles. They hit my truck with one of their throws. It is actually kind of amazing how quick a crew cab F150 can do a U-turn and run up on a curb before three 13 - 15 year olds can run. I never touched the little snots, but I will be shocked and surprised if they ever toss another rock at a charcoal grey F150 again. To make matters worse, I made the ring leader of the group call his mother. I think, based on her tone when she arrived, that she took care of the butt whuppings for me.

I tell ya its getting sad outthere. One of the guys at work had his patrol car sitting outside in a well lit area and some kids had broke windows one night, anothere night keyed it, and the last time they set it on fire. There is no respect at all... tells ya where the world is going.

Sorry to hear that KY. I lived in Ky. too before moving here(Paducah) I used to put ours in at Nickel branch and because of campers stealing nice new shiny wheels, we started putting in at Moor's marina. Can you check with the D.M.V and put the word out as far as some one applying for a lost title for a boat trailer. Even though we didn't have to have our trailers plated, It still wouldn't hurt to try.

Well I am not so sure the world is any different, that's why they used to hang horse thieves . . . My kid got his bike stolen the other day and we think we know who did it. Wife wants me to confront him, but I won't unless I am sure. Somebody already mentioned this in this year old thread, but that is what insurance is for. Not sure there is much else you can do . . . BTW, don't leave your trailer light adapter attached to the trailer either, especially the 5 pin type . . . because when they steal it then you can't back your trailer. Don't ask how I know this . . .

I guess you guys all are aware the real estate market is in the toilet right now; I'm in the real estate business. We're doing all we can to hang on to our shirts right now; this week alone, I have had 15 fence panels stolen ($500) and at another property the condensing unit was stolen, copper cut, wiring ripped out of the box, and the anchors pried out of the concrete (over $1200). Kills me that we are trying to improve neighborhoods and this is how we are repaid!!!

I'm going to rig a sawed off 12 ga. to go off directly behind the truck if the hitch is tampered with.. That'll teach em! All it would take is a little trip wire rigged to the trigger... Oh wait... If I do that I'll be a criminal and spend the rest of my life in jail while the guy who tried to steal the trailer would be getting free medical care and welfare for the rest of his life...... You can't win

I feel for ya. Someone stole the prop off of our pontoon boat a while back while it was hanging in the lift. So much for a weekend on the water. Idiot. He took the cheap aluminum prop off the barge and not the 400 dollar stainless steel one off the bass boat hanging next to it, same engine on both, 70hp Johnson. Haha. I love stupid criminals.
How did it ruin a weekend? Couldn't you have used the bass boat prop on the toon for the weekend? Maya notta had the same performance, but would be better than nuttin.

I think he meant that the bass boat was not his. Thats how I interpreted it anyways.

Re: Stole my trailer ! ! !

Since I have some spaces in my rims I bolt a U-LOCK (usually for a bike) through the rim and onto my trailer. They may cut your padlock but draggiong a trailer with one wheel that doesn't move is not only hard... it's suspicious to anyone who may see them. :)

Of course you could go to the extreme and buy a GPS tracking system for your new trailer at www.spyassociates.com and go steal it back in the night. Man. Talk about messing with their heads :)
