Re: Storing motor - upright or lying down
I recommend building a stand on rollers. It makes life so much easier to be able to roll it around, and you can use it for other stuff as well. Mine has proven invaluable. Right now I have a 115 hp Evinrude sitting on it waiting for me to figure out what to do with the thing. I have repaired, rebuilt a number of large and small outboards on it, and when not in use I can place it where my rolling toolbox is, and just roll the toolbox between the legs and it is out of the way. Otherwise, you can prop it in the corner, just make sure it won't slide and fall.
