Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?
Ditto on getting your own survey done.
Right now you have the advice of a few dozen talented amateurs on what's wrong, and they only looked at pictures.
If worst comes to worst and you have to go to court on this, a full record of a survey by a licensed, bonded surveyor will go a much longer way than your personal snapshots. Think of it as good insurance.
A fuel tank if full moving around between two very poorly secured stringers in heavy (3-5 foot) waves *might* be able to cause the problems in the pics... but probably the captain would be showing some wear too
In any case for the damage to happen the fuel tank mounts would have to be crap, along with the stringer construction, and as people have pointed out lousy glasswork. All in all stuff you don't expect on a new boat.
Once they come back and admit fault (which they should) I recommend you push for a new boat or (even better) your money back. Technically this is fixable, but given what people here have pulled off a boat has to be a smoking pile of ash before it's truly not fixable.
The problem with them repairing this boat is that they won't do a good job... factories generally remanufacture, not repair..... and you already have evidence that glasswork on the boat is crap. Do you want to have them repair the parts that are broken, then once your warranty expires have the rest of the boat come apart?
