If they do indeed find that this was a true defect I hope we all find out about it so WE CAN TELL THE WORLD.

Because this would be the first defect in the history of any boat builder....

or burned the evidence. or recycleed it or something they cant give back that same hull. They just would not do that. I know they got rid of that old hull so that noone would see it again!! they cant give him back the old one or consumer magizene is going to buy it from this guy to analize it and rate them on it. He is going to get one of their best hulls and professionally watched as its in production. If its the old one i hope he tells us cause i have a few numbers that i want to pass on to him of people that will come and take a look at it. Starcraft marine is talking about buying the hull if they can get it, and there is a report place that would like to get their hands on it!

only though if its the old hull taho boats are a dime a dozen to everyone. Just a crappily made nice boat. Its nice but they cut all the corners that they can and thats why i have numbers for him if its the old hull that comes back to him. I bet taho repairs it and sends it to some other state for resail and gives him a new one. If they send it somewhere else noone will know!!! Thats what i was told what would happen from the tracker dealer near here!

This is like watching a modern day lynching...Is Tahoe the first manufacturer to have a problem? I know quite a few happy Tahoe owners...and have read many positive reviews from independent writers...I guess they sure did a good job in fooling us all...

Yup, I think some of us are as anxious to learn what will be/has been done as bainyg! Let's just hope that Tahoe, at a minimum, just puts a new hull on this boat. If they do, and do a top job of the refit, then I will be among the first to congratulate them for doing the right thing.

You guys are right on not bugging them to much. I'm gonna call back on May 1st just to make sure they're making some sort of progress. I'm figuring they will know if they are going to repair or replace by then also.
I hope they give me a quality product back. After this experience I doubt I'll ever buy a brand new boat again. In my opinion "used" is the way to go. Bigger boat for the buck and you don't have to pay sales tax!

During the course of this thread, I have been admittedly cynical about the behavior of U.S. corporations when it comes to customer service and basic honesty. To that fact, I will only say that my cynicism is a direct result of having watched corporate shenanigans for a very long time.

Here is yet another example of what I am talking about:

http://www.aarpmagazine.org/money/on_your_side_MJ08_rental_car_damages.html

Funny how Enterprise appears to have fully intended to stick it to this couple until a consumer reporter got into the situation.

Gee, I wonder if one of the actions that the corporate communications lady recommended to prevent future problems, was to fire the rental office manager and the claims center manager for what sure seems like an attempt to rip off the customer involved.

To bainyg, may I recommend that you pick up a copy of the reporter's (Ron Burley) book - "Unscrewed: The Consumer's Guide to Getting What You Paid For"

Disclaimer: No, I don't know this reporter/author and never heard of him until I read the AARP article linked above.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

I really hate to think how many boats Bass Pro Shops/Tahoe must have being repaired for it to take a full quarter of a year for them to even get around to looking at it.

Not that Bass Pro was ever the sharpest tools in the shed... after all the map to their Sevierville, TN store points you to the middle of a cow pasture about 3 miles from the store. Yes, they have been told about it, at least twice. No, they haven't changed it in the year since I first made them aware of it.

I'll never, ever buy a Bass Pro Shops or Tahoe boat, that's for sure; and I'll recommend against them whenever a friend asks.

This is exactly what I was talking about in an earlier post on this thread. Why did it take a Consumer Advocate to bring this to an honest conclusion. Why did it take pressure from this thread and Boat US Forum and their letter and involvement to get Tahoe to move on BainyG's warranty claim? Why does it take Good Sam, Trailer Life and MotorHome owners groups on and on to get RV and Boat Manufacturers and other products as well to honor their warranties? To me a warranty is a Manufacturers word/ promise to stand behind their product, yet when it comes right down to it. They shirk their responsibility to honor their warranty or drag it on so long that often the owner either gives up, fixes it them self or hires someone else to do the repairs and the company gets off the hook. I was always taught that a man was only as good as his word. Guess in this modern day of crooks, frauds and irresponsible Companies and Corporations that just isn't true anymore. I guess the old saying it's a Dog eat Dog world holds true for everything. BUYER BE WARE! 14, 392 hits on this thread in I Boats.....BAD ADVERTISEMENT FOR TAHOE and BPS
