Studdy again

Im now working in a green house and as some of you know I have to stop working there for my health.
Now I was thinking of going to work in a factory where they make hydraulic hoises.
Its a 9 to 5 job and a bit more relaxed than wat im doing now.

Now I was thinking to go back to school in the evening.

I would like to become a Bachelor of Nursing.

I have worked as a nurse before when I was studing to become a social worker I hated the study and stoped but my parents didnt alow me to start something diffirent.

Anyone done this study and how was it.

I think it would be a great job to work on cardio all the high tec equipment.

The factorys must be different there because i find the ones here very high stress


We are a bit older at 52 and 50 BUT my wife just finished and MBA at night while working full time and it was the hardest 2 years of a 26 year marrige

My children at 20 and 23 are still full time students and my son had to agree to not work more than 20 hours a week to be allowed into his program

A factory job is more relaxing then working at a green house??? Did you have to evade the laws because of the Plants that you were growing or something?
On the serious side, is this really what you wants to do? I don't know about how it is where you lives but here in the U.S the nursing programs are pretty tough. You have to completes your pre-requisites first and then you will have to be accepted into a nursing program. A program will only accepts a limited number of students each year, creme of the crop only. They won't accept you if you're just pulling a C average, unless they're desperate. Now, onto the job itself, you won't be working with all the high tech equipment like you think. You will be working with a lots of sick, most often old stinky people and some of those old sick folks are just plain hateful. Not to mention their relatives which you can't never pleased. They will **** you off so bad that you wants to strangle them, but you can't. My better half and her mom are both nurse and I hear about their glorious job all the time. Myself, personally, I wouldn't do it.

I worked in a Levi's factory for a couple of months, and it was totally relaxed.

Well, my family's experience with nursing is quite different than what gonfishie describes.

Two of my daughters are nurses and all three have nurses as their husbands/life partners. Their collective experience includes 110 years of patient care, from Neonatal intensive care to Geriatrics to Anesthesia. My third daughter is a Physical Therapist, so she deals with patients as well.

Nursing pays well, not great, but well. An unemployed Nurse doesn't want to work, and (s)he can work just about anywhere in the country (s)he wants to.

It is hard, sometimes heartbreaking, work. There is nothing like a 9-5, 5 day schedule unless it is in a Doc's office. All my family work in Hospitals. I never heard one of them complain about patients. If they complain, it is about incompetent, arrogant Docs.

My #1 daughter recently got a "Thank You" card from a 30-something year old man who had discovered her identity. She cared for him when he was born 3 months premature in 1973. Some things are priceless.

If you think you could be a good Nurse, Turin, I say go for it. It is a special profession for special people. I could not be more proud of "my" nurses.

Well JB, you've never heard them complain because they didn't want you to hear the bad side of their job because it's ugly. You're also right about it takes a special type of person to do the job. Not everyone will be able to put up with the stuffs they have to deal with. Not to mentions caring for someone who is dying or walk into a room and discover that the patient had died.

20 years ago I couldn't wait to get out of hospital work due to all the arrogant and incompetent nurses who considered themselves too good and valuable to actually care for a *sick* person. Most of their workday was comprised of complaining how overworked and undervalued they were, and trying to get every other department to do their work. In truth, they were overvalued because they underworked.

Now I'm sure there are dedicated, caring nurses. But in 20 years of multi-facility management, I found only a few.

I sincerely hope things are much different / better in your country.

I've never had a 9-5 job. I can't relate with that.

Nursing is NOT 9-5.

Come here, nurses command HUGE wages. A serious shortage.

If you like the concept, of the work, go for it.

Here in Springfield they are needed bad.......I know one woman who was so imcompitant in life I wouldnt let her even watch my kids for an hour and yet she somehow became a nurse.....Though just barely with the grades she had. She failed a bunch of tests and yet they kept letting her take them over.......Its scarey to even think of her as a nurse and I can promise you if I was in the hospital and she walked in as my nurse I would get up and walk out if I was able to, and if not I would get someone to wheel me out.....

Turin..... just keep the guy in the mirror happy. Consider the entire picture and future...... where will you be in 10 or 20 years based on either job.

I know what working as a nurs is I worked with terminal stage alzheimers.
When I was studing to gain extra money, I was just a helper but I did everything exept injections.
I did love the job but couldent pas the the door with a few of the nurses.
so i quit.

I was studing to become a social worker I hated the study and stoped but my parents didnt alow me to start over and study nursing.

I just mentiond the hig tec eqipment as a reason why i wanted to go and work at cardio.

I dont wat to work at Palliative care again, becouse it was depressing becouse everybody died (yes at cardio people die but not all)

I dont want to go into the program becouse the wages are to low.
Thats why i want to studie in the evening.

Well you life experance will serve you well in your studys


We let my daughter at 14 years old live with Ballet companys in Chicago for 2 years and PA for 1 year before burning out because of the weight issue


Now that she is in a Deg program SUNY Buffalo she has been able to get very good Research Jobs at school in the area of weight loss SUPRISE

Having been there and done that she has insite into the problem that can only be learned from living the life of a dancer

I haven't been to college, but I need to. As others have said already do what will make you happy. Heck I might (and that is a big MIGHT) have a job making fishing lures , I don't know how well it pays though.

I JUST thought of that joke literally 10 seconds before reading your post, but you beat me to it.

I worked on several different cuts of womens jeans... and sizes ranging from 2 to 28. I sewed the waistband on. I worked there, literally 91 days when the plant closed and moved to mexico... got full benefits because I had worked over 90 days. Those benefits included a lump sum payment equal to 6mo. wages... 2 years of college tuition and books paid... and a new computer. Pretty nice for only working 3 months. Makes me wish every job I've worked would move to mexico.
