While looking to but our first boat this past summer, we ran across several sellers who were more than willing to run the engines for us if they couldn't (or wouldn't) meet us at a lake. About half of those used a hose adapter to supply water for the run. The other half were content to run the their engines "for a little while" without water. What were these people thinking?!?
Being a first time buyer, even I knew that was a stupid thing to do? As soon as they would do that, their sales pitch was over.
One guy let his run for over a minute while he tried to tell me how easily the cracks in the fiberglass could be repaired (didn't mention that in the ad). Take care of your damn boat!
