Re: Submersible trailer lights?

Careful where you mount your trailer lights, as there are stipulations, at least there are here in most provinces in Canada and I'm guessing in most states too.

You usually can't put them where you want high just because you want to. I'd suggest you check with your local Highway Traffic Act or similar for the correct guidelines. They are probably posted online somewhere.

At best, improper lights may get you a ticket......at worst, cause an accident and make you liable.

You could always install them up high, above the water.

Lights look good . . . but come on now, that license plate needs to be down on the frame. Looks kinda silly just hanging up high like that

Re: Submersible trailer lights?

Funny reading this thread cause about an hour ago I just got through swapping the OEM trailer lights on my Daughters 14 foot aluminum Monark.

I replaced the wiring too since it came in the package, but if you want to make it real quick to do just replace the old lights and reuse the wiring, that would take you about 15 minutes.

I paid $50 for the submersible LED package. Included the car harness ( I reused the old one), the trailer wire harness, two lights and the license plate holder.

Who needs submersible lights??? Just launch like this guy. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'll vote for the LEDs also..

I've been sitting here trying to figure out HOW one would do this. I could see if the boat went in first but why would anyone drive in car first???

What am I missing as to how he did this?

got out to remove straps and forgot to put in park

But he's "facing" the wrong way. When I remove my straps . . . I'm "backing" down towards the water. Transom usually goes in first (new boaters, make note of this) . . . unless of course you are the guy in this pic I guess :D

Well I saved the image on my computer to first see what the make of this pick up truck it. As much as we wish that Toyota was also having problems on the pick up trucks; this is a Ford F-150. Now I would love to know just how this person did this, but since the Sheriff's Department is there I wonder what kind of a ticket you would get for driving truck first into the water.

Hope he remembered to put the drain plug in his F150.

LOL we can only hope. It looks like he also forgot to put the snorkel on his F150 as well. That's never good, and we gotta hope that he remembered new wiper blades as well.
