Re: Super Bowl 45 thread.
No way a defensive struggle. The pack has way to many weapons for the Steelers. I know I am a cheese head but I really believe that the Packers will prevail. Rogers got another concussion in the Bears game with that vicious hit (helmet to jaw) and still was better than most in the NFL. I hope the league fines that guy big time. It was a late and possibly career ending type of hit. So if Rogers can stay healthy though the whole game I believe it will be a 37 to 13 game. A-rod is murder in a dome or on carpet. Best stats in the NFL.
You are definitely a Cheesehead and not looking at the game realistically! The Pack, although dramatically improved from the middle of the season on, are not the best team in the league. The Steelers have the #1 defense in the league. Both QB's match up with Rodgers having the better arm and being mobile, maybe more mobile than Big Ben, but Big Ben is, well, big, and hard to bring down and can really stretch out a play. Not sure Matthews and Co can hang with him.
Rodgers will have to contend with Palomalu, Farrior, Hampton, et al. Green Bay will have to put the ball up, and Steeler D usually bends, but doesn't break against the pass - interceptions and a few sacks likely.
Expect Ben to pass enough to Ward and Miller with the long threat of Wallace to keep the defense honest, but the running game of Mendenal, Redman, and Moore should punish the defense enough to gain enough yards to win. Steelers have won very "pretty" games, that is not the Steeler way. But in the end, they seem to win. I expect the Steelers to come out on top, but only by 4 points or less ... maybe 17-14, 21-17, 21-20, 24-20, 24-21 ... you get the point, some score like that. Probably a defensive score that wins it in the end.
Pouncey's return at center would be a huge lift for the Steelers.
