Hi all;
I will be quite honest and say that I know very little about boats and am not much of a mechanic either, however; I have fixed my vehicles without a clue just by searching the web and using manuals.
I just purchased a Johnson Super Seahorse 35, from the research I have done, I assume it is about a 1959 - 1963 (an oldie), I have got the engine to run and am testing it in a large barrel, my question is this;
When it is in neutral I see a large amount of splashing and thrashing in the bucket,,, is this the water being pumped to cool the engine, it seems to be coming from the hole below the intake for the water,,, however; I dont see any coming out of the exhaust at the top of the leg. is this normal, I didnt want to run it to long without being sure,,, I tried to talk to a boat mechanic and he told me to take it out to the lake and see if it runs???? said an engine of this age isnt worth putting any time or money into???.
any help would be great, thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.
