Re: Super Slick Substitute for bottom paint
Hello:

I used a product from West Marine last year that I believe is called easy-on. Same thing and what you were referring to v.s bottom paint.

Anyway, I keep my boat moorned in the Chesapeake Bay. I live in Virginia Beach. <High salt water content>

Now, regardless - I take my boat out about every 3 weeks to powerwash the bottom. The bottom wax actually helped a lot.

I wouldn't say it eliminated ALL the growth, but growth was more slime than barnicles.

The slime can be washed away with boat soap and water, so yes the stuff works - but with some degree.

It is really rated for low fouling areas, which saltwater isn't. It would work great for brackish water, but as long as you take your boat out of the water lets say montly to wash you should be OK>

Hope this helps.

PS - You just wipe the wax on with a sock or something. You DO NOT buff it off. It dries like a silicone substance.

You can even do your upper hull for more easy washing and to add a bit of a shine.
