ok, so ive bought my first boat, with a crusty dt50 motor roughly bolted to the back. ive lovingly rebuilt the entire grp shetland boat, after some eejit butchered it by cutting the cabin off to try and make it look like a speedy speed boat thing, and now im about to attack the engine.
ive unbolted the 8 bolts holding the gear case on, have dropped the case @40mm, can see the waterpump housing with drive shaft going into it, and the shift rod. now im scared.
there is no water tube as in brownspoint microfishe, and how do i disconnect the shift rod??
please dont tell me to buy a manual or go to a suzi dealer, cos im british and live in the uk, and all us brits are broke cos of our prime minister. ta lots for detailed help pleeeeease!!!!!

You can disconnect the shift rod, put the lower unit back into place put the motor i gear and you will see the shift rod in the gap at the back of the motor, where you can disconnect it ....
