First of all Thanks to all for all the helpful info. I have been reading the forums for about 5 weeks leaning every thing I can find, about Suzuki outboards it has been a big help.
Ok now for the questions I purchased a boat with a locked up 1984 Suzuki DT-140, I broke it down and what I have found is that #4 rod bearing is shattered but there seems to be no other damage that I can tell I have pics so if anyone sees something let me know. My questions are first of all what would cause this, second if there is no other damages what should I do just replace the rod bearings and rings or what? Also as you can see in my pics the rods can be removed from the crank. I was under the impression that the rods were pressed on to the crank but in my case thank god there not.

Pics
