Re: Suzuki GS 750 first bike! - Starter Trouble
Bingo! I had a few minutes today while waiting for the girlfriend at home and took a gander at the clutch switch. It comes off with just 2 screws. I loosen the lever as to be able to turn the switch on top and went at it. As soon as I pulled the contact out I was convinced that was the problem. The best way to describe what I saw is to mix grease and powder graphite and that is what I had. I cleaned it up but it still won't fire. It seems that the contact is not traveling far enough. I did use an alligator clip to short it and it starts every time. I had no time to check any further as the young restless girlfriend made it home but if the neutral switch works and I can't fix this switch I will just bypass it until I get one.
I had an 83 gs750es, I think the clutch switch was what i replaced. but get a meter or a buddy with one and check for yourself.
