JB
Regarding the pump drive, the cam has been improved in 2002. There is no bulletin, but the replacement cam will fit back to 98. The sharp edges machined in the slot have been rounded off and the metal has been hardened...

What200
Can't bypass rev limiter. If you are always limiting, try a more radical prop...

Danmck
Suzuki thermostats will distort to the "open" position in the event of an overheat...

philtheskipper
Check the water sensor for accumulated debris, or wear in the pivot. If careful, you can clean it...

After observing the mentality of the Suzuki rep, I would certainly buy a Suzuki product. It seems customer support is number one.... :)

Can you tell me Where I Might find an impeller for a 9.9 spirit Artic?
I know it was made by Suzuki or at least all major mechanical components were.
Is there any way to determine the year and model # without the ID Tag.
There is a sticker on the transom yoke with the # 99902.
Motor works great with a pump I'd hate to have to junk it because of a $20.00 part.

Thanks in advance

444,

It may be identical to a Suzuki. I would take the impeller to a Suzuki dealer and see if you can match one up.

Thanks schematic.
I was afraid of that answer. I could pitch up to a 30 but it would kill my holeshot. I'm mainly thinking about decking the cylinders a bit to raise the port timing but being limited to 5800 rpm really puts a damper on that. I'm guessing the the recipicating mass is good to 7K before I get a custom port job. I have an ECU from a 87 150SS and a manual for an 86 150SS says that particular model has a 6500 limiter. I'll try that in a few weeks. I was hoping if you shorted the reset switch it would let you do anything you wanted. I may risk killing the ECU and see what happens when you do that.

(BTW - there's got to be a way because I've heard of a few tales of the ECU's going bonkers and reving 7K in neutral and the only way to kill it is to push the choke in)
