I was in a remote area and had to purchase a conventional 2 cycle oil instead of my usual synthetic blend. The engine seemed to run fine when I switched tanks (to the conventional tank). I quit trolling after another 45 min. and headed for the dock when my engine started surging while running about 30mph. I pumped the fuel bulb thinking that might be the problem but it didn't help. I put her in neutral and choked the engine, which seemed to rev fine in the higher rpms, but back in forward she was running slow with the hammer all the way down. The engine seems to have a throaty, airy-type noise if you know what I'm saying maybe due to lossed compression or just a blockage. This may have nothing to do with the oil situation but what are your thoughts? Thank you in advance!

My thoughts? I think it has nothing at all to do with the oil. My guess is that it is not running on all cylinders. Now you will have to figure out why it isn't, because I can't tell from here.

I agree with F_R. Unless you really got the mix way wrong. Rick.
