BBC News - CES 2013: The tablet that turns itself lumpy

"Tactus, a company based in California, has developed technology which can turn a typical flat tablet screen into a real keyboard with bumpy buttons. The keyboard rises from the tablet when needed, before disappearing when the typing is done."

This is the kind of technology you see at expo shows that never makes it to the mainstream. I hope it does, it'd make using my tablet for emails 100x easier.

Meh - just get a surface and you can pop the keyboard off if you don't want to use it.

Acer and Asus also make tablets with key board attachments.

Get what you're saying but then you have carry a keyboard around with you to. This one has is it sort of built in already, a godsend to folks with big hands like me.

^ This. The integration of the keyboard is paramount. I'd love to try it out!

Trying it out, would be great, but at the current level of technology, I am not going to invest my money in it!

I can imagine them popping like bubble wrap for a user with long nails. Like I said....some things never make it past the expo!

If you're talking about the vegas expo they had an LED tv that came with 4 pairs of glasses. Each pair of glasses could watch a different channel at the same time.

Or what their magic screen would do below room temp.

Right now I think the best use for 3D TVs is gaming. LG has "left" and "right" glass so that you can have two people playing a video game without a split screen.
