Re: Tachometer problems

I resolved the problem
Signal wire cannot be connected to the mounting case on the back. It must be done straight to the terminal, before you fit your tachometer on the back of your dashboard. Red and black wire can go to the case.... Just in case if someone has similar problem.

Re: Tachometer problems

I bought the rectifier from the above link. I am having doubts now. is this a requlator/rectifier or just a rectifier? If it is a reg/rect, only two of the posts are marked. One is marked "+" and the other is marked "AC". Well, we all know that there are 4 wires to connect. Which wire goes where?

Re: Tachometer problems

I just watched the videos and read the comments below each video. I see now this is not a requlator as the voltage went well over 14 volts. Can someone recommend a reg/rect for my 1990 Force 90HP that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Wow. I just read the post/argument about high charge voltage. Looks like I could go either with a rectifier or reg/rect. If a R/R from a sled will work, would one from a PWC work? Still would like to know where you guys are getting yours.
