Re: Temp problem

I am thinking it's either the rubber tube, or possibly the copper tube (but I am not leaking water, which I think rules out the copper tube.) However it was changed spring 2010 along with the bellow, gimbal bearing shift cable, etc.

Re: Temp problem

Problem is between the impeller & the clear hose. How does the impeller housing and water tube look? Is the hose from the bell housing to the transom tube kinked, how about the tube itself? When you have the drive off you can backflush that stuff and then just run water through there to see what you get.

Re: Temp problem

I pulled the boat and dropped the lower unit. Found the impeller was perfect, and had no problem at all. I started digging further into it, and found a hairline crack in the waterpump base and the gasket underneath was split. Replaced both, put her back together, and back in the water. no problems at all. Had her out running for 30 min between 3400 and 3800, and the gauge barely went above 120.

Thanks for all the advice guys!
