Re: temporary attaching the registration sticker

Well this thread went into the pooper .

You guys sit there & say that you have NEVER done anything illegal !!.

You guys are a bunch of liars.

Well my 26 years as a Military Officer, didn't allow me to do illegal acts, it would have cost me big time and could have cost me a career, you can call me a liar all you want, but I will stand by my position.. if I don't like a law, I will do all in my power to get it changed, but I will never just break it because I don't like it. You may choose to not believe there are honest people around, but you would be wrong!

The OP asked a question, some of us recommended solutions that have worked for us, then SBL advocated doing something illegal, Which no matter your age is wrong.

To call others liars, with no knowledge of who they are is going a ways. I will admit, I did drink a whole bunch of beer the night before I left for the academy, and I was only 18, so I guess I did break the law...:p

I lived in Connecticut for a few years and can tell you for a fact that trading plates or registration papers among vehicles in Rhode Island is common practice. Not condoning the practice, just saying that SBL is parroting actions and words he's heard before.

It's not big deal don't put it on and if you get pulled over by harbor patrol or any one else just tell them what you told us there understanding there not going to give you poop for it.

Keep in mind the OP is not SBL. SBL is advising someone that it is perfectly fine to circumvent the law. Whether you choose to do so or not is a personal choice. I doubt ANYONE is 100% innocent. However, we can't jump on a forum where people are looking for and sharing advice and advise that someone should break the law.

Maybe SBL will learn his lesson the hard way....maybe an uninsured driver will hit and destroy his boat while he is trailering it with a bad plate on it....not only will he not get any compensation for the damage to his boat and trailer, but he will get a ticket for an unregistered trailer and maybe face charges for a stolen plate. If he was using my plate , I would say he must have stolen it .

This thread has reached the end of the line. I am seeing the truth in the old saying CHILDREN SHOULD BE SEEN AND NOT HEARD!
