Re: Test Drive [motor bogging]
More of a rusty color now, hopeing this is good?not white anymore after i rebuilt the carbs.plugs where new when i started.
The motor has 2 different carbs as i stated earlier in this thread,i was told it was the same just from an older model motor. They appear the same except the top cover and copper tubing you can see through front of carbs. The 1 that i know for sure is factory carb for this motor has 2 bigger tubes that run from the bottom all the way up to and into the top of carb, [both carbs have these tubes]and factory 1 has a second set of smaller tubes in front of the bigger tubes that are only bout an inch long and stick up from the bottom, but do not go all the way to the top.Hope this all makes sense to everyone?Anyway my other carb does not have these second set of tubes, but there is holes there but no tubes.will this make a difference? All jets in both carbs are the right size,i checked it with my manual.
Is it possible that someone before me put the carbs back in the wrong spots?does it matter which 1 goes on top and on bottom?I put them back the same way they came off, left the linkages on so i wouldn't get em mixed up.
I read in another post that rather to rebuild a fuel pump for these motors just by a new 1.I really don't have $100 to just go by a new fuel pump just to see if it would help my issue, but i would rebuild it.Looks easy enough, but from what i've read they say it's easy to mess up.Is it really that difficult to rebuild 1 of these?I don't know how long the motor sat or anything, thats why i was thinking of rebuilding pump.
