Also, anyone out there who could help with a year?

Judging by the steering wheel and windshield, I would say your boat is a 1968, but it could also be a 1967. ( if the wheel and windshield are original to this boat )

I've got that same motor, I love the look of them. I decided to have a pro go through it for me so mines at the shop now. Let me know how she does on the boat!

Finally had a chance to get a leak test in and flip her over. The leak test went well, just a couple loose rivits and the obvious three bilge pump holes... However, just for good measure I started wire wheeling all the seams and rivits in prep for some goop. If all goes well I really hope to have the first couple coats of primer and paint on early next week!

Same here! Nothing beats the classic look of a mid 50's anything! I esp. like the look of the Mercs of that era, just so happens the Lark was a deal and a half or she might have had a Merc on the back. These motors are simple, classic and almost bullet proof. I know I wont be setting any world speed records, but once repainted it sure will look beautiful!

Finally finished all the sanding and wire wheeling on the old girl. I went a little overboard on the rivets and seams, but from my experence with the last project Id rather be safe than sorry. I need to pick up some epoxy tomorrow and start sealing the leaks and what not. I really am amazed at how nice this hull is. I figured I might find some dents scuff marks but to my surprise there really isnt much to speak of. Im looking forward to this weekend and getting a lot done. Epoxy tomorrow, Sat night some primer and with any luck Mon Ill shoot the first coat of white.

Here are some more progress pics... Enjoy!

Thanks EZ! Its nice having another boat on the water as it allows me the time to do this one right. The SS was some what of a rush job, and to be honest after a couple months of banging it up Im not too sure if Ill put as much time into it as I am the Jet.

Thanks Jason! I think its either a '67 or a '68, Im not totally sure. I say we flip a coin:p

It doesnt have the rear bench and it has the single stringer down the middle of the hull.

I haven't posted on this old tub in some time, but now that the SS is basically complete I figured it was time to show the old girl some attention. I had quite a bit of white paint left over from the SS build so I used it to shoot the first coat of paint on the Jet. Of course I sprayed a coat of self etching first. I also had a bit of that left over as well.

Here are a few pictures of the progress.

I also picked up a '73 Johnson 40 HP for next to nothing. Came complete with controls, new water pump, and new LU seals.

AWESOME work! So you got a Starcraft in great shape for $160, a '57 Lark and a 40 hp Johnson (w/controls btw) for "next to nothing".....No fair! I'll give you $170 for the whole kit and kaboodle right now :) Can't wait to see how she turns out. How are you gonna set up the interior?

I sold the Lark, it was a short shaft. I had planned on cutting the transom until I came across the Johnson for $125. The interior is probably just going to basic. I was thinking just laying some carpet and putting in a simple seat. Nothing crazy, it mainly just to hop out onto the lake quick and do some fishing. My SS doesn't fit in my garage but the Jet does. This way if I wait to hit the lake for a hour or so before dust I can slap her on the hitch and make the 30 sec trip to the launch.
