The sun's been kinda sparse lately....just noticed my voltmeter is a hair below 12V for the battery bank (which juices some lighting in the house). Flourescent lights do not like low voltage not even a little bit.

Doesn't your system switch to line voltage if the solar can't keep up with demand?

Our exterior solar lights are dead ... they aren't even lighting for a little while right now! Yep, too overcast the last few days. Definitely a downside to solar.

No. My setup is not that fancy (yet). The (12V) wiring is separate.
I'm using high intensity and fluorescent fixtures in a couple rooms and closets. But the low voltage will trash the $7 a pop fluorescent bulbs in a heartbeat.
I'll just have to pay for the lights until the sun shines again.:)

Solar will be much better in the future, as the earth's magnetic field weakens, and allows more of the solar wind into the earths atmosphere. So just wait a couple hundred years, ok?

If I can just make it long enough, it'll be fun to see the northern lights over the whole sky, even here in Louisiana! I guess I'll be the "Northerner" shortly thereafter.;)

LOL
That's just the encouragement I was looking for.:)
Some sun was out today....battery bank is at 12.6v.
One more sunny day will put me back in business.
