Re: The Beer thread!!!

My favorite beer was Stuggarter Hoffbrau, but haven't had since I was in Germany. There was also Anzdocr (sp) triple bach that would really mess you up after about 4 of them.
Now it's Bud heavy, but I do treat my self to a 6 pack of Labbat Blue once a month.

Fav booze is Absolute vodka and iced tea

Lately I've been drinking Newcastle, but I like Sam Smiths better.

I also like Yuengling.

Most of the local independents are gone now. Any of you Wisconsin or Minnesota boys know if Schells of New Ulm or Grain Belt are still in business and/or independent?

I wouldn't drink Bud, Miller or any of those beer wannabees if it was the only "beer" there!

LMAO, you can keep your watery corn juice:D

I like a lot of the New Glarus stuff as mentioned somewhere about. Fat Squirel and Spotted Cow are real good.

I drink a lot of Leinenkughals. They make a great Creamy Dark and a good Red. My staple is High Life though. I get told all the time its an old mans beer, but I like it ;)

Schell is alive and well and now is the brewer of Grain Belt. I live in Iowa, but we import a fair amount of Schell beers and they're all pretty good. I particularly like the Firebrick and the Pale Ale. Stevens Point (WI) White Biere is a good one flavored with coriandor and orange peel. Fort Collins brewery has some good choices including a Chocolate Stout (better than it sounds).

Pretty hard to find a bad German or English beer and the Belgians are a special treat, priced accordingly.

Gotta quit, I'm getting thirsty.

A lot of the Point beer is pretty good. I had the White Biere for the first time last week.

Hey Pony,

I got my new Leinnies Lodge newsletters last night. They are coming out with a New IPA soon. I Personaly dont like very many Leinnies products but, The Apple Spice is a great thing in the morning. You know that old saying "An Apple A Day..." Also have you mixed and of the beers to get a new flavor. My best one ive tried is a Honney-Berr.

Re: The Beer thread!!!

The Apple Spice one is really nice in Fall. I bought a case last year to take up to the deer hunting cabin. It is a refreshing change of pace, but much like their new Summer Shandy, its not something I can drink a lot of or string together.

Honey Berr is good. They were actually serving it at Summerfest last year.

I havent tried mixing anything else though. I actually like their stuff quite a bit.

I usually make my own...dark and highly alcoholic. Otherwise it's vodka...straight out of the bottle for that cool hobo image. ;)

But I can't have anymore...doctor says my liver is about to explode....
