Re: The Democrats are gunna love this one!

glad you asked, WITF. My conservative viewpoints include, but are not limited to the following:

The power of the federal government over the states must be restricted. Self-government, based on personal integrity of a proper moral foundation, is the best government. Good government is based on the individual, and each person’s ability, dignity, freedom, and responsibility must be honored and recognized. Equal opportunity is a right and a privilege but equal outcome is not. No one’s rights are negotiable and individual freedom demands personal responsibility. Government spending is out of control and needs to be reduced. The family is the foundational unit of a healthy society and is responsible for its own welfare, education, moral training, conduct, and property. A well-educated population is fundamental to our continued success, and parents have the right, as well as the duty, to direct their children’s education. The future of our country depends upon a strong and vibrant private sector unencumbered by excessive government regulation. A strong America ensures a free America. All Americans have the right to be safe in their homes, on their streets, and in their communities. Enforcement of laws through the swift and sure imposition of justice. Respecting the rights of law-abiding citizens. The elimination of presidential authority to issue executive orders, presidential decision directives, and other administrative mandates that do not have congressional approval, and repeal of all previous executive orders and administrative mandates. Limiting the definition of eminent domain to exclude seizing private property for public or private economic development or for increased tax revenues. I oppose passage of any international treaty that overrides United States sovereignty, including the Kyoto Agreement and the Biodiversity Treaty. I support changes in the Internal Revenue Code to allow a religious organization to address the vital issues of the day without fear of the organization losing its tax-exempt status.

Merry Christmas!

Just as I suspected, all you talk about is limited gov't with a brief hit on personal rights.

What about defending the homeland? What about securing our future? What about fighting our enemies?

Also, plagerism is looked down upon in this forum. If you are going to copy from, or get ideas from a website, at least post it so as to not make it seem like your original work.

LOL!! As if I need validation from the likes of you. You've got a long ways to go before considering yourself an authority on what the forum frowns upon.

Tex, if you're going to deny your liberalism, you're going to need validation from SOMEBODY. I too, have read many of your posts, and have drawn my own conclusions as to your idoeology. After all, 90% of them (like 90% + of my own), are ideologically-driven, and define you. So sure, it's probably too late for others to validate what you yourself have so clearly defined.
No matter what someone tries to label you as, you will likely deny it. You do not like labels. That is also a liberal trait.
Most conservatives don't mind the labels they are given by the left, and don't bother adopting them if they are clean and seam to "fit"..
When the left came-up with "neo-con", it was shortly after the whole "neo-nazi" skinhead trend picked-up on by your media and tabloids hit the mainstream. It was meant to have the obvious relative effect, but flopped when the "new" conservatives heard it and said.. "hmm.. That's me, alright! I'm AM a NEW CONSERVATIVE!"

Jtex, I can only add that I'll sallute you in any escape you can make from your liberal ideology, and hope for reading much more of it.
To quote both Micheal J Fox and Rush Limbaugh, "I have hope"

Oh yes, I agree Jtexas, you've been a member SOOO much longer than me you are God's gift to this forum and I'm the janitor.

FYI, 12footer has been a member longer than both of us, and he completely agrees. So it certainly isn't just me.

Last time I checked post count didn't mean a thing when it comes to IQ.

I used to only ask boating questions until I came into the DC area and saw the true ignorance of the left, and that placing a fishing pole in ones hand does not equate him to a smart leftie.

I won't say this is in reference to anybody in particular, just in general.

Merry Christmas!

12F,
I said above, "...for the record, I'm not a democrat." That's about political party affiliation.

The way you write of "ideology" implies to me that one must be 100% "conservative" on every issue, or else be 100% liberal, a "leftie", a democrat.

I'm "less conservative" than you. So what? That doesn't make me an enemy of our military, or weak on terrorism, or weak on crime, or any of the other things you mean when you refer to "the left" or "the liberals". In fact it makes me about where most other republicans are.

I realize it's more convenient for you when people toe the party line, but I won't compromise my values just to satisfy any political party. I'm not saying you are, but I am saying that's what you seem to expect of others.

[note to witf: IQ? LOL! Merry Christmas!]

Fair enough, Tex. It'll be ok. Just take two chill pills and re read the post in debate. In the meantime, if you want to call yourself a "conservative", "libertarian", or porgressive, it is no real concern of mine. Actually, i think it's a nice derailment from the whole "alqueda towing the party line for liberals" topic anyhow.... That topic makes me hurl just thinking about that slimeball influencing OUR elections (if ya know what i mean). .. Well, maybee not.

Not "more convienient" to me ,Jtex... More accurate!! :) But explaining it like you have, equates to "NOBODY is liberal or conservative" to me..And I am just expressing my total disagreement with that whole bogus "I am shades of grey" opinion. We ALL are, I am mostly conservative, therfore, I am a "conservative". I know it may sound complicated, but actually, it's too idiotic to even rant-on about it any further.
So in closing, just keep an ear out for new marching orders from Ayman al Zawahri. He sounded kinda angry about the elections issue, tho i do not understand why. After all, he DID win. Maybee if you keep negotiating with him?

re: "the post in debate" it's a problem I've always had, just can't resist taking the contrary position.

Hope you had a nice Christmas - I'm off 'till Jan 3, today is dead calm and 55º but I couldn't go fishing due to family commitments - forcast says 20+ mph winds rest of the week - just my luck!

Got out early today, but the WX bites here also... And I am currently boatless anyhow. At least we got some time to chill out in front of the puter, huh?

just as custombycrunch gets the righty label you get the lefty.

I knew it, I knew on Christmas morning my name had been taken in vain.

What makes me a "righty"?
My views actually come up as....
