Wow Kev you certainly have a great collection of firearms!

I got a guy from phoenix wanting to trade $2500 and an ar-15 w/ scope and 3200 rounds for the glastron that we are STILL selling (had one looker in person, price might be a bit high for winter selling).....

whats the ar-15 scoped and that many rounds worth on the open market anyways...(used) anyone?

Bill you remind me of elmer fudd...Kill the wabbit! kill the wabbit!

th th th th tats me lol, I waiting for them to put me in a wu wu wubber woom :)

The value of an AR, well it depends on the make and model of the AR. they can go from anywhere from 500-5000 depending, average is about a grand. My stag which is a lefty carbine was around 1300. You also have to look, some only shoot .223 others 5.56 and .223. Although depending on the bullet and the load there pretty close Ballistics wise even after 300yds. Me I like the diversity of being able to shoot either.
Same with scopes, you can spend $39.00 on a tru-glow red dot tactical or 2k on a Leupold Mark4
Ammo, again it depends, cheep steel case 5.56 Bear or Wolf you can get for about $230 per thousand rounds, Junk, stay away from steel cases. Better stuff Eagle is about $100 per 200 rounds, even better Hornady $170 per 200 rounds.

Sorry I didn't help much, best bet if your interested in the trade is to find out exactly what he is trading then it becomes real easy to figure the street value

SO, Do I have your head spinning yet
See what you get for callin me Elmer Fudd LOL :p:D Hehehehe
YOU Waskerlly Wabbit lol

Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

Thanks Vegas...
And Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, and to all my friends here on iboats..(all 3 of ya..LOL..kidding)

A lot of those pieces come from my pops collection, others I have aquired on my own. I would not have 5 S&W Model 10's if he had not been obsessed with them..lol

A couple other items I have are my pops Daisy Model 25 BB gun, in GREAT condition from the late 40's, also have his Webley 177 cal pellet piston from the same era..A funny story about that Webley air pistol..

My Grandfather was a Sgt in WW1 and brought home a German Luger carbine.
This was a Luger pistol with a detachable shoulder stock and a 9 or 10 inch barrel with a wood lug forearm..In it's wood presentation case and all tools for assembly..

Well Gramps wanted the Webley for my pops and actuallt TRADED the Luger for the Webley!!:eek::eek:

At that point in time, the Webley was worth more than the Luger..The Webley is worth about 200 dollars or so to a collector, and the Luger..Well umm take a look for yourself..

Kinda makes me sick thinking about it..

HIJACK!

Well, about an hour ago I turned the heat on here at the ol' homestead for the first time this season. Got down to 36 outside overnight last night and was 61 in here this morning.

Supposed to go even lower outside tonight. Definitely expecting frost overnight. The high temp today was 58 and it's already down to just 42 degrees. BRRRRRRR!!!

I know... drives the northerners nuts! :D

It's 35F and raining here. Very cold and wet. We've already had 2 snowstorms this month. No snow on the ground now but it's only a matter of time. I'll take your 61 degrees anytime. LOL. I've had the heat on now for over a month.

Well, it didn't get as cold overnight last night as had been predicted. Forecast said temps down to 30, but it only reached 35 here, so still no first frost of the season.

The mourning doves were all huddled up together under the bird feeder though! :D

But that's even cold for you guys. Get back to me in January or February. I may need some help shovelling the snow from my driveway and bring a sweater. It may warm up to -20 or so. ;)

HI Jack..........................

I woke up this morning to get bagels and coffe, walked out the door and this is what I found.

016-2.jpg

The other tree was holding up this tree from ripping my service off the house. I called the utility company (highest rates in the united states) and waited for an operator for a half hour. She said because of the high winds today they should be there by tonight. So I called the brother in law and we dropped it ourselves with a little help from a truck.

So much for working on the boat today.

By the way..

I was just thinking this thread may go on as long as the "BOAT NAMES" thread!

Kinda like that "never ending song, that goes on & on & on..."

Long as some jackhole doesnt jack up the hijack thread and it gets closed.

His prices appear to be somewhat inflated.
Remanufactured ammo...easily found for $300/1k round
New Winchester can be had easily for <$450/1k rounds
The scope is a cheap <$50 unit
Since he provides no details about parts can't look any further, but I think he gave enough info already. LOL

Thanks Peter,, Yeah I figure his setup is worth 2k $$ or so to someone, just not me.....although I do remember the THOUGHT of nabbing an M-16 for myself when I was in basic training (ARMY) in the 80s!~ glad I didnt! jailtime woulda been annoying to say the least!

3200 rounds? What was he going to hunt?

lol he was abviously feeding ALOT of kids........he hunts the elusive Paper target bear, empty glass bottle elk, watermelon deer!! hahahha

Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

vegas, just one further note on ammo pricing....

The prices I gave you don't even account for the garbage being offered by Wolf Ammunition. 1k rounds of that can be had for <$300, BUT you would never want to use that in a gas tube gun (i.e. AR-15 or M-16).
(That lacquer coating starts to melt off the cases and gum up the action.)

Now we can't let this thread die... so let me stir things up a bit.

That ammo will work fine ALL DAY in an AK!! Muaaaaahaaaahaahaaaaa! :D
