Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day:) so its back to bicycles yippee :)

Sprint-You have a PM :D

Do you have custom grips on your bike? HAHAHAHAHAHA sorry sorry sorry i had to.

On a side note, lost cause modified the subwoofer box so it has enough deflection airspace up top and now the damn thing rattles the entire house and the ports blow the deck clean.

Nice porting and polishing? Do you have access to a flow bench?

I could only wish :( I have done enough of it over the years when I did have access to know what to and not to work on. Most of what I do is in the bowl area cause thats where you pick up the most the valve guide and under the seats are a real killer . with a SBC stock is only 50% eff. These heads should be good for an additional 40hp + or - a few

Total seal rings, roller rockers, indexing the valves and spark plugs and cc the heads? Porting the intake and exhaust and port match the intake and exhaust? That stuff is still fun.

I love doing this stuff a little to much, I had promised myself that I was just doing a standard rebuild on this one ....... I then got carried away  .

I think I just wrenched myself right out of an Alpha drive :( My intention was to get my volumetric efficiency up there. With a 9.5 cr, fully ported heads comp cams XM256 cam, torker manifold and a 600cfm Rochester the simulation software has me at 398 hp 463fp torque . The heads are 76cc that's kinda like running open chambers on a big block. I do have a set of 1.5/1.6 rollers I think I am leaving them off. I might bring the engine over to Merkel for some dyno time before I put her in to see exactly what it is putting out.
Maybe choke her down with a little 2bbl  to get close to 300

EDIT- Thinking up ways to de-tune/ make less power Now there's a switch

Detune - Honda I4 done deal.

On the cam is it marine? My friend who used to build boats and now works on the Ferarri race team tells me that the Marine cams don't have any valve overlap due to the wet type exhaust sucking water into the engine. Dunno if its FUD but hes built some badass engines.

I have to figure out what kind of Carb is on the mercruiser!!!!! Isn't it either Rochester or Mercarb? I need a rebuild kit. Ive only rebuilt one Carb I'm more of a stand alone engine management kinda guy.

Yep its a marine cam, they are designed to limit the possibility of reversion. There is actually a 34deg overlap ex close 18 ATDC intake opens 16 deg BTDC but that is a heck of a lot less than I'm used to.

Ya know, I really didn't look that close at my carb its got to be a Rochester, it looks like an old quadrajet, so I didn't even give it a 2nd glance. Not sure but I don't think Mercruiser makes any of their own I/O engine parts, I know mine is all GM

HIJACK!

Turned the A/C on in the house tonight. Haven't needed heat or A/C for two months now. Nice, low electric bill!

Got up to 92 here today though and humidity is up as well, so on went the chiller to keep us cool while sleeping tonight. This warm weather is unusual for this time of year but is supposed to drop back again to normal next week.

At least I don't have to shovel snow like my buddy in CO has to do! Bwaaa haaa haaa!! :D

I did some extensive work in the bowl area lots of blending, re-worked the guides, took out the lip under the seats blending the port to the seat. I don't really polish you really don't get anything for it its more cosmetic. I did reshape the intakes just a little to create a better natural swirl effect of the incoming charge.

EDIT- If I start blowing up outdrives now you know why LOL
