Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome

I am really a good prankster. But my achilles heel is I am a laugher. I can come up with good stuff, that takes a long time to develope, but I can't hang around or I end up giving it away. My best stuff is spontaneous, no time to get caught.

If I am in on a gag about to go down, and I am stuck there, I have to avoid eye contact with anyone, I usually have to stare at my shoes.

My grandparents had one of the first generation central vacuums. The unit was this enormous contraption in the basement. The connection at the machine was a disconnectable hose, so that the unit could be lowered to the ground for repair and what not. There was a discharge hose that went to the wall and outside.

My grandmother had just spanked me for something, and I wanted to get even, or at least earn the spanking I just caught. I loaded her vac connection on the first floor with flour. I switched the hoses and snuck upstairs. I waited half a day , trying to keep from bursting, for her to use it.

My grandfather and father came home for lunch, and they took one look at me and just knew something was up. My grandfather took me outside and asked what was going on. I couldn't lie to him. I am a horrible liar. I saw a twinkle in his eye, for a second. He did run in, but grandma already opened the little hatch to attach her hose. POOF..... I earned my second spanking.

HIJACK!

Here is my almost completed bathroom resto.

3x6 subway tiles with a chair rail, 1/4 round and 1/2"x6 black accents.
Today I installed and leveled the vanity and installed the granite top. THEN found none of the pipes lined up so then I had to cut all the old stuff off and start from scratch.

Hey Thrill, sorry to hear about the knees, got to get used to wearing good knee pads, I did commercial tile work back in the mid-late 90's and no padding will kill them in short order.

Hope everyone is having a joyous holiday, just took a break from the fam to check on-line before going out for the day.

I little side note:
I'm moving out of my shop :( so I had to move my boat this week. I found it amazing how much lighter it is with the new deck, transom, and foam. It feels like its 800# lighter.

When I originally towed the boat out of my wife's uncles yard he had said I was the only one that towed it out with ease (Chevy 16' box truck with 6.5L diesel). I didn't tell him I was really feeling the weight and was just being lead-footed lol.

I towed it wed night, and I could barely feel the 22' cuddy cabin boat behind me. I find it amazing how much water must have been inside that old foam and wood weighing it down.

For now, back to my house, can't afford the $1600 a month anymore
Business isn't that good these days :(
It's either cut the shop loose or a worker, I rather bite the bullet, cut the shop, and keep a man working

haha, that is funny.......

My Hats off to you biting the bullet. More employers and politicians need to be more like you, if they were employees would be happier which translates directly to your customers happiness.

In the end your choice should pay off.

Merry Xmas

Thanks, Now if only my landlord that I'm breaking my lease with felt the same way :(

Hang in there Bill!

I'm trying Vegas but it gets real tough some times, I was at the shop yesterday getting more stuff out, looking around can get real depressing remembering how things once were

I am trying to cheer myself up by getting another boat :)
wifey don't really want me to. I can get one for $100 its similar to mine only its 12 years newer for $100 has an mercuiser 260 IO in her. looks pretty solid, engines been winterized but the place that has it don't know if it runs. The wife says if I get her I am to strip her and use the parts for our boat. I say if its better and an easier fix, fix this one to be out on the water this year and take my time with ours so she is perfect.
The one thing slowing me down is I have to drag mine off the trailer cause this one doesn't have one.

HIJACK!!

It's leftovers time! I have the turkey carcass in the crockpot, making soup. Also have just a few of these leftover... but they won't be around long! :D

My GF calls them Mars Bars, but I don't know the real name.

Ingredients:
1. 1 lb. land-o-lakes butter
2. 1 box crushed Vanilla Wafers
3. 10 oz. flaked coconut
4. 24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
5. 1 lb. pecan pieces
6. (2) 14 oz. cans sweetened condensed milk

Process:
In 9 x 13 in. pan, melt butter in a 200 degree oven, remove when melted.
Raise oven temp. to 300 degrees.
Layer ingredients in the order noted above
Bake about 45 minutes or until golden brown on top

Cut into 1" squares. Serve chilled.
