Re: The Hijack Zone - Zombies Welcome
Hey Hvac...
Right back @ ya..heres to 2010!
Sorry I havent visited this thread (or that many others lately)
That is one FUGLY drive...almost as ugly as whats bolted behind my tub at the moment!
Hands down go with the SEI drive with a warranty! I have heard nothing but good things about em and you can go to the Merc/Volvo/I/O forum and search "SEI" there are lots of happy endings..(No VPM, NOT that kind)
If I had the coin I'd go that route without any hesitation what-so-ever!
Hey Kev, Hope you and the family had a happy new year, Hx, Px think Im gonna post a Billy Bob nomenclature Thread LOLMan that would just mess everyone up lol
Here is a pic of the drive, I have to really take a look at it when I get her home. It looks like well the only way I know how to describe it is intergrandular corrosion ( aircraft days, here I go again lol ) seeing it was a fresh water boat, I have no other reason for the housing degrading.
The port side of the drive is where I really saw damage looks like it corroded right through it. I turned the prop by hand and I really didn't feel any backlash hinting the the gears were fine.
I believe its an Alpha gen I , here on iboats I can get an aftermarket for $1300 or a alpha rebuilt for $2300 to buy just a lower case its $950 which makes absolutely no sense to me, 400 more for a complete upper and lower??
Any thoughts????????
