saw the neighbor come out into his front yard then go inside and return with his wife. They tried to not look like they were looking at me but I know they were.

then the neighbor next to them came out and stood there with them and also pretended to not look at me.

am I the only one who stands in their boat and practice casting in the yard? then I sat down behind the wheel and made motor noises, honked the horn and waved like in the boating commercial on TV and the wife waved back then they went inside.

I did that too! First time I actually "fished" out of my project boat. Had a bait casting rod and was trying to see what it would be like to fish out of the front of the boat. Threw the line about a dozen or so times. I don't know if any of my neighbors saw me, but I don't care if they did...it was fun!

Last week couple of freinds came over to check out the boat and next I know we are siting in it drinking my wife came out in the gargage and laugh and went back inside house. Told her just getting a feel for the old girl and yes was making motor nosies!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Haul your dog and supper dishes out into the front yard. While the dog is gnawing the last bits out of the lasagna pan, spray off the silverware with a garden hose, then let your dog lick the plates clean...

When you see the new neighbor casually ask him/her "Hey, my wife wants to invite you over for dinner tomorrow night... all nice and neighborly like

Back in the early 90s I was working at Goddard Space Flight Center. A co-worker buddy of mine went with me out to the parking lot so that I could show him my new-to-me Winner bass boat.

Naturally, we climbed up inside and were sitting there talking when a NASA security guard drove up next to us and nonchalantly asked.... "Ya'll catchin' anything?"

if i lived next to you i would come over and join lol..i used to just sit in the drivers seat for hours.. makin sure i liked everything.. than would start up the engine just to make sure i liked how it ran

I've fished for screech owls with a rubber worm, and bats with a small spinner bait. No hooks, of course. The owls always fell for it; the bats only once or twice. Smart little buggers....

I would sometimes to go a friends house "in town" and we would fish for "gutter trout." We would pull out the lawn chairs and place them in the middle of his not too used road in front of the house. Put the cooler between us, cast out the rods, and sit there and BS. Caught about as much as when we went fishing, so we saved time and gas by just doing it in the middle of the street!

And we had fun getting the neighbors all worried they were living beside a lunatic (which they were, but that is our secret!).

So, no, you are not too crazy ... at least not crazier that a lot of us!

haha Mine already know I'm nuts, and hate the fact that I put air ride on friends trucks, weld and do bodywork out of my house. But I just got a boat project and the other day I got in it and was checking it out and did the "Leo DiCaprio Titanic" thing on the front deck. LOL I had fun, but figure I just turned up the "nut job" factor by a trillion. LMAO

yep.

ive drank beer in mine, practiced fishing, tested new rod holders (casting then putting it in the holder and doing a quick draw --and setting the hook) , made motor noises, rev it up all hours of the night, throw my bait net, and just about everything else you would normally do in a boat----probably some stuff not very many people do in boats....................all while sitting in my front yard.

i even had all three lined up together one time and had some buddies out drinking beer..........we thought it would be funny when the girls came outside if we where all sitting in one each acting like we were racing---------she has pictures of it somwhere ill see if i can find them to post ........if she doesnt beat me to it....

one catch to my antics though.............i live in the country , on 15 acres, and my closest neighbor is bout 100yrds away (mom)............but i have had a lot of people, who are driving by, slow down --sometimes stop to watch me..........one time when a county mounty was driving by i was reeling in a whopper of a stick........yep he stopped to look too!

i think everyone is guilty.......if only they are willing to admit it.

now in your case........first impressions.........thats all i can say.

maybe i should change my signature to "sit in the boat in the front yard and drink beer all day"
